“On August 24, leaders from Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center (SNVMC) presented YFT with a $98,000 grant in support of behavioral health services. The evening included a buffet dinner hosted by YFT and a presentation of the play, ‘Every Brilliant Thing,’ that Sentara brought to the YFT campus in Bristow. A panel discussion with behavioral health professionals followed the production allowing the audience to share in the themes explored through the one-actor play.”
Prince William Police Department: “Shooting Investigation *SUSPECT IDENTIFIED – Officers identified a suspect sought in connection to the shooting that was reported to have occurred in the area of Coloriver Road and Goodland Court in Manassas (20112) on May 15. The investigation revealed one of the victims was involved in an altercation earlier in the day with an acquaintance before the parties dispersed. Later that day, while driving in the above area, the victims observed the suspect vehicle approach them at a high rate of speed before an occupant fired a round, striking the victim’s vehicle. No injuries or additional property damage were reported. Officers determined the shooter was known to the acquaintance previously involved in the altercation with the victim. On August 23, following the investigation, officers obtained arrest warrants for the suspect, identified as Elmer Eduardo PINEDA SALGUERO. Attempts to locate the accused have been unsuccessful. Wanted: [Photo from January 2023] Elmer Eduardo PINEDA SALGUERO, 22, of the 10100 block of Wilmington Street in Manassas. Described as a Hispanic male, approximately 5’6, 180lbs., with long black hair, brown eyes, both ears pierced, and a full beard & mustache. Wanted for 1 count of shooting into an occupied vehicle, 1 count of use of a firearm in commission of a felony, and 2 counts of attempted malicious wounding.”
“Shooting Investigation [Previously Released] – On May 15 at 6:00 p.m., officers responded to investigate a shooting that was reported to have occurred in the area of Coloriver Road and Goodland Court in Manassas (20112) earlier that day. The investigation revealed the victims, a 20-year-old male and 16-year-old male, were driving in the above area when a gray Nissan sedan approached them at a high rate of speed. While the vehicles were passing one another in opposite directions, an occupant of the Nissan brandished a firearm and a round was fired that struck the victim’s vehicle. Both vehicles quickly left the area, and the victims eventually contacted the police. A single shell casings was located in the roadway. No other injuries or property damage were reported. At this time, the incident does not appear to be random. The investigation continues.”

Prince William fire and rescue: “On Wednesday, September 13th, at 10:00 a.m., the Prince William County Department of Fire and Rescue will hold its graduation ceremony for Recruit Class 2023-1 at the Grace Life Community Church, 9560 Linton Hall Road, in Bristow.”
“Battalion Chief Scott Arft will preside over the ceremony. Class 2023-1 consists of Fire and Rescue Technicians who successfully completed 32 weeks of academic and physical training at the Department’s Public Safety Training Center in Nokesville.”
U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia: “A Baltimore man was sentenced today to 10 years in prison for possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking offense and possession with the intent to distribute cocaine.”
“According to court documents, in December 2022, Rodney Burgess, 29, unlawfully purchased a firearm, extended magazine, and 9mm ammunition from a Federal Firearms Licensee in Woodbridge through a straw purchaser. On March 2, 2023, investigators with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) arrested Burgess pursuant to a federal warrant.”
Prince William County fire and rescue: “Early this morning, units were dispatched for a townhouse fire in the 3000 block of Eagle Rock Court (Lake Ridge). Crews arrived on the scene a short time later and were met with smoke showing from the front of the structure. ”
“All occupants were out of the house after having been alerted by sounding smoke detectors. The occupants (2 adults and 3 children) were forced to evacuate from a second story window to the ground below prior to fire and EMS units arriving. Both of the adults were injured during their evacuation and transported to a nearby medical facility with non-life-threatening injuries.”
Prince William police: “Fatal Crash Investigation *DRIVER CHARGED – On September 7, crash investigators obtained charges for one of the drivers involved in the fatal crash that occurred in the area of Minnieville Rd. and Hedgewood Dr. in Woodbridge (22193) on August 30. The drivers of both vehicles involved in the collision were found to have been traveling at a high rate of speed leading up to the collision. The driver charged was operating a vehicle and lost control, striking the other vehicle which then left the roadway and hit a tree. The collision killed the 23-year-old driver of the vehicle, a 2011 BMW 535. The deceased was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Following the investigation, crash investigators charged the driver of the 2014 Nissan 370 Z, identified as Bilecer Turcios HERNANDEZ, who was also determined to have been driving the vehicle without a license.”
