Manassas City Government: “Keep your eyes on the weather. The sooner it gets chilly, the sooner the Harris Pavilion will be ready for ice skating. The projected date is this Friday.”
“Ice skating will be starting soon, and it’s very weather dependent,” said Acting City Manager Douglas Keen during the Monday, November 14, 2023, city council meeting.

“The goal of the campaign was to increase awareness amongst teens and young adults about the threats fentanyl poses, show how those threats are relevant to them, and to increase knowledge of fentanyl and fentanyl-laced substances such as illicit pills and powders. The campaign’s aim was to reduce the risk of overdose from the deadly drug that is 50 times more potent than heroin and 100 times stronger than morphine.”
“Results showed that the campaign was successful in effectively communicating with teens in the greater Prince William area who are impacted by fentanyl; and that teens were most engaged in learning what to do in case of overdose and wanted to learn more. Results also showed that the campaign reached susceptible teens who had not yet tried drugs and early experimenters.”
Updated 5:50 p.m.: A Woodbridge native is one of 32 U.S. Rhodes Scholarship awardees named Sunday, Nov. 12, 2023, Class of 2024.
Fahad Abdulrazzaq, who attended Prince William County Public Schools, received the scholarship.
National Museum of the Marine Corps: “The National Museum of the Marine Corps (NMMC) welcomed the 7 millionth visitor when Timothy Kapp, Jr of Youngsville, N.C. crossed the threshold on November 10, 2023.”
“Kapp, a Marine veteran with 12 years of service, and his wife, Kelli, traveled to the Museum for the Marine Corps birthday ceremony but traffic delayed their arrival. This is the first time they’ve been thankful for traffic jams, according to Kapp.”
