The Northern Virginia Transportation Authority released the study, which claims that recent investments in the improvement of Northern Virginia’s multimodal transportation infrastructure are paying off, especially in terms of economic development for the area.

According to the study made by the Richmond-based Chmura Economics and Analytics, it was found that from the initial $3.3 billion in investments that have been made since 2014, NVTA and Northern Virginia have seen a return of $7.1 billion, making it more than 150% return.

Stafford County is continuing its efforts with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) and residents to implement a solution to the recurring flooding on the “S-curves” of Brooke Road, located between Raven Road and Maplewood Drive.

The Board of Supervisors recently approved the County’s Fiscal Year (FY) 2022-2031 Transportation Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) on April 20, 2021, which provides the funding necessary for the construction of an emergency access drive as well as all necessary improvements and repairs needed to bring Windermere Drive into the state highway system to allow the road to be open to public traffic.
