The Stafford County School Board held a special meeting on Wednesday, November 10 to introduce its new superintendent, Dr. Thomas Taylor.
At the beginning of the special session, Dr. Taylor signed his contract, coming the county’s new superintendent of schools. Afterward, Taylor made a speech that invoked the Marine Corps as a standard of service.
Governor Ralph Northam announced Amazon will build an east coast distribution hub in Stafford County.
It is the second Amazon logistical hub to be announced for Stafford in the past three months. The new 630,000-square-foot plant is described as a cross-dock facility on the Northern Virginia Gateway site, located at 220 Centreport Parkway. It will serve as one of Amazon’s East Coast hubs, representing the beginning of the supply chain where products from third-party vendors are sorted, repacked, and distributed to its other distribution centers.
School Board Chairman Babur Lateef publicly says Prince William County Schools are not teaching Critical Race Theory.
But, in private texts that were made public only through a Freedom of Information Act request, Lateef says “Well I have always said that and I have maintained CRT is what we are doing here.”
From Prince William police: Malicious Wounding | Domestic Related – On November 8 at 12:53PM, officers responded to the Shenandoah Station Apartments located in the 19300 block of Belleau Wood Dr. in Triangle (22172) to investigate a domestic. The victim, a 26-year-old woman, reported to police that an acquaintance, identified as the accused, entered her apartment, and began a verbal altercation. During the encounter, the accused forcefully grabbed the infant child from the victim’s arms and ran into another room. When the victim entered the room after the accused, he struck her with a glass figurine on the head. The victim was able to take the infant child and went to a neighboring apartment where police were contacted. The accused fled prior to police arrival. The victim reported minor injuries and no injuries were sustained by the infant. Following the investigation, officers obtained arrest warrants for the accused, identified as Travis Xavier TIMMONS. Attempts to locate the accused have been unsuccessful.
Firearm used to intimidate mother, infant
[Updated 3:10 p.m.] Police lifted a lockdown of Woodbridge Senior High School this afternoon after reporting a shooting on campus.
No one was injured, and there is no evidence of a shooting, police said. There is no threat to the community.
