The Stafford County Board of Supervisors has announced the appointment of Randal E. Vosburg to the position of County Administrator.

Vosburg has been serving as County Administrator of Highlands County, Florida, since his appointment in 2017. Before that, he had served as Assistant County Administrator for Highlands County when he was hired for the position in 2013. Vosburg’s experience includes serving in the Polk County Sheriff’s Office in Florida.


On June 3 at 12:55 p.m., the School Resource Officer assigned to Freedom High School at 15201 Neabsco Mills Road in Woodbridge was contacted by school personnel regarding a fight between students.

The investigation revealed a 15-year-old male victim, a student, and a 17-year-old male student was involved in an ongoing altercation in a hallway. The accused punched the victim before he was kicked in the head multiple times during the encounter.


A Stafford man was arrested after firing a handgun from a hotel balcony.

On Saturday, June 4, at 11:43 a.m., Sergeant A.I. Assur and Deputy T.M. Givler responded to a Super 8 motel at 25 Wicomico Drive in North Stafford with a disturbance report. Staff said a guest had reported hearing gunshots at about 2 a.m.


The Workhouse Arts Foundation, Inc. is holding a special opening reception for its Kissed by a Muse exhibit.

The exhibit will feature artwork by Virginia-based painter John Hartt and mixed-media artist Cheryl Neway which celebrates the main themes and draws inspiration from Xanadu (based on the Universal film, music and lyrics by Jeff Lynne and John Farrar). The works will include contemporary costuming, fanciful paintings of enigmatic characters, and bright discothèque colors.
