Fredericksburg Square, featuring Hot Chikn Kitchn and Water’s End Brewery, will host its Grand Opening on Saturday, December 31 from noon until 7 p.m.

In Downtown Fredericksburg at 525 Caroline Street, Fredericksburg Square is a 19,000-square-foot event center, originally constructed as a townhome in 1854.


This morning, Tuesday, December 20, 2022, soldiers Derek Eich and Brock Emery of the U.S. Army Caisson Platoon presented students at Widewater Elementary School with a commemorative plaque after the kindergarten class won a naming contest for “Gunther,” one of the platoon’s new horses.

The two soldiers answered particular questions about Gunther, including “How soft is Gunther,” (He’s the softest horse ever) “How fast can Gunther run,” (about 35 mph) and “How many friends does Gunther have?” (About 48)


The show will be on display from February 1 – February 26, 2023, at the Open Space Arts Gallery at Stonebridge in Potomac Town Center. The exhibition is meant to showcase artwork surrounding African American Heritage, life, culture, and experiences.

Artists are invited to showcase how they would interpret different creative works in music, poetry, and monologues from different historical figures. All mediums are welcome based on the subject matter and historical figures named in the descriptive information below. All mediums of visual art are welcome. The collection selected for display will be curated by the Arts Recreation Specialist of Prince William County, Herb Williams.


The Freedom High School football team secured the first state title in school history with its 48-14 win over James Madison High School in the VHSL Class 6 state football championship. This caps off an undefeated season for the Eagles.

“It feels great.” said Darryl Overton, Freedom High football head coach, in an interview with Hi Def High School. “After all the battles you fight on the field and all the ones you fight off, [the championship] solidifies what you’ve been doing. I couldn’t be more proud and happier.”
