Manassas Railway Festival is set to take place on June 3, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The location will be Historic Manassas train station at 9431 West Street.

The 29th annual event is free to attend, and visitors of all ages can participate in activities and attractions. This event is held to help celebrate the railway history of the Manassas community.


Insidenova: “Actor and musician Gary Sinise and celebrity chef Robert Irvine teamed up to give thousands an unforgettable experience at Fort Belvoir for Memorial Day weekend.”

“Sinise and the Lt. Dan Band travel to military bases across the country to perform free of charge to service members, veterans and their families. And on May 25, they took stage in front of the garrison headquarters.”


Prince William County Government press release: “THE TRIBE BAND, billed on the band’s website as an “Old School/New School Party Band,” will bring an eclectic show to the Sean T. Connaughton Plaza at the McCoart Government Center on June 2 for the Fridays at 5 Concert series. The concert starts at 5 p.m.”

“Believe it or not, we started off as a gospel group. We kind of started adding Motown and R&B, soul, funk, some smooth jazz and GoGo to the repertoire,” said Larry Simpson, percussionist and founder of the band that includes drum, a saxophone, keyboards, bass and lead guitars, along with vocals. “We try to give them a little bit of everything.”


Occoquan Mayor Earnie Porta: “On Saturday, June 3, from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m., there will be a live auction during Occoquan’s RiverFest and Craft Show. The owner of the Mill at Occoquan project has agreed to allow us to auction off a variety of old Occoquan items that remain on the property, with all the proceeds going to the 501(c)(3) Occoquan Historical Society.”

“To access the auction, patrons will need to travel on the sidewalk behind the vendor tents just to the west of Ellicott Street on the river side of Mill Street (modest signage will be near the entrance) and enter through the property’s gate.”


Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center Facebook page: “Sentara Cares presented a check for $30,000 to Youth For Tomorrow, a non-profit neighbor of Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center, on May 17, 2023.”

The park, at 16000 Theme Park Way in Doswell, is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Fridays, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.  Saturdays, and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sundays.

The Soak City water park inside Kings Dominion is open on weekends from noon until 7 p.m. The daily hours for both parks expand on June 10, when Soak City opens for daily summer operation.
