Prince William Police Department: “Registration has opened for the 2024 Polar Plunge to benefit Special Olympics Virginia. This year’s event is at Leesylvania State Park, 2001 Daniel K. Ludwig Drive, Woodbridge on Saturday, Feb. 17, 2024.”

“The Prince William County Police Department is looking for individuals – or teams of family, friends, co-workers, or organizations– willing to brave the cold temperatures on land, and in the water, to help raise money for Special Olympics.”


University of Mary Washington: “A blend of violin, viola and cello, the Washington, D.C.-based trio The String Queens also blend together their careers, as educators by day and concert performers by night.”

“The ensemble will bring its signature sound to the University of Mary Washington’s Dodd Auditorium in George Washington Hall on Friday, Dec. 1, at 7:30 p.m. The concert is free and open to the community. Registration is required.”


 

City of Fredericksburg: “On Saturday, December 2, Fredericksburg will host one of our favorite Holiday traditions: the Fredericksburg Christmas Parade. Beginning at 5:30 p.m., guests can border the sidewalks of downtown Fredericksburg to enjoy the over-75 groups participating in the Parade.”


The Riverside Center for the Performing Arts is decked out for Christmas,  and its Christmas show reminds us what it means to be kind this holiday season.

The performance house is celebrating its 25 years in 2023 and is showing “Miracle on 34th Street” for its annual Christmas show. “Miracle on 34th Street” gets everyone in the holiday spirit.


Facebook: “The Greater Manassas Christmas Parade has been a fixture in the community for 76 years. The parade takes place [Saturday, Dec. 2, at 10 a.m.]. This year’s event takes place on Saturday, December 2.”

“The parade has become one of the largest holiday parades in Northern Virginia with over 100 units-marching bands, floats, high-flying balloons and more. We have approximately 2,000 participants and over 300 volunteers.”


Christmas is about to arrive at ARTFactory in Manassas, as Rooftop Productions presents “White Christmas.”

National Park Service: “Kick-off the 2023 holiday season with the National Christmas Tree Lighting. This tradition is presented by the National Park Service (NPS) and the National Park Foundation (NPF), and will feature musical performances and the official lighting of the National Christmas Tree on the Ellipse at The White House and President’s Park in Washington, D.C.”

“This year, the ceremony and official lighting will take place on Nov. 30. Hosted by American country artist Mickey Guyton, this year’s event features Darren Criss, Samara Joy, Ledisi, Reneé Rapp, St. Vincent, Joe Walsh, and Dionne Warwick. The event will also feature performances by the United States Coast Guard’s Guardians Big Band.”
