PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. — A county budget wonk and a neighborhood planner were both promoted to the Prince William County Government executive leadership team.

The Board of County Supervisors announced the promotion of Michelle Casciato and Chris Price to fill the two vacant Deputy County Executive positions made available by the promotion of Christopher Martino to County Executive and the retirement of Susan Roltsch. Casciato, who was the Director of the Office of Management and Budget, will oversee the General Government functions of the organization. Chris Price, who was the Planning Director, will oversee the Community Development functions. They join Elijah Johnson, who oversees Human Services to round out the County Executive team.
Casciato has been with Prince William County Government since 2005, when she was hired as the Neighborhood Coordinator. In 2006 she created the Neighborhood Services program and was named Division Chief of the newly formed Neighborhood Services Division of Public Works. In 2010, Casciato was appointed as Director of the Office of Management and Budget. Prior to coming to Prince William County, Casciato was the Vice President of a private sector property management firm where she spent 21 years of her career. Casciato earned her B.A. from Cornell University, an MPA from George Mason University, and is currently a Ph.D. candidate at George Mason University. She resides in Woodbridge, Virginia.
PricePrice came to Prince William County in 2011 when he was hired as the Planning Director. During his tenure, Price made significant strides in reengineering the planning process in Prince William County, which streamlined the development process and increased community input on rezoning and redevelopment efforts in the County. Prior to coming to Prince William, Price served as the Executive Director of the Northern Shenandoah Valley Regional Commission, was the Assistant Director for the Centre County Planning and Community Development office in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania and was a Senior Planner for the Centre Region Council of Governments in State College, Pennsylvania. Price is a certified planner through the American Institute of Certified Planners and earned his B.S. from Penn State University and his MPA from Old Dominion University. He resides in Haymarket, Virginia.
