Schools
Stafford County Public Schools:
Stafford Schools are closed Thursday, Feb. 13.
Employees Code 2. Liberal Leave in effect. Offices open at 10 a.m.
Employee status will be reassessed on Thursday morning by 7:15 a.m.
Colleges and Universities
George Mason University (GMU):
George Mason University administrative offices are closed and classes are cancelled at 7:20 p.m. tonight Wednesday, February 12th. University events scheduled for Wednesday evening may be postponed or cancelled. Please check with the event coordinator or event website for more information.
The university will announce operating hours for Thursday, February 13th no later than 5:00 a.m. Thursday morning.
University of Mary Washington (UMW):
Due to predicted adverse weather conditions, the University will close at 6 p.m. today, Wednesday, Feb. 12, and will remain closed on Thursday, Feb. 13 on the Fredericksburg, Stafford and Dahlgren campuses. Administrative and staff offices will be closed and all classes, events and activities will be canceled.
Northern Virginia Community College (NVCC):
NOVA closes at 7 p.m. on Wed., Feb. 12. All evening classes and activities are canceled. The College will make a decision about cancellations for Thur., Feb. 13 no later than 5 a.m. tomorrow. Please refresh your browser for the latest update.
Germanna Community College (GCC):
Due to inclement weather all Germanna locations will close at 7PM today, Wednesday February 12, 2014.
Military Installations
Quantico:
MCB Quantico is operating in Code Red.
On Thursday February 13th, 2014 MCB Quantico is closed. Only Emergency and essential personnel are expected to report to work.
Fort Belvoir:
Fort Belvoir offices are CLOSED today. Emergency and Telework-Ready Employees must follow their agency’s policies.
Federal Government
The Federal government has officially closed in the Washington, DC area for February 13.

Stafford County Government:
Due to the inclement weather, Stafford County Government offices are closed today, Thursday, February 13, 2014. All Stafford Courts are also closed. The Stafford Regional Landfill is closed until noon.
The meeting of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Committee on Thursday, February 13, 2014, has been canceled. It will be rescheduled at a later date.
The meeting of the Board of Social Services on Thursday, February 13, 2014, has been canceled. It will be rescheduled at a later date.
The Thursday, February 13, 2014, meeting of the Proffer Guideline Committee of the Planning Commission has been canceled. The meeting has been rescheduled for Friday, February 21, 2014, at 8:30 a.m. in Conference Room ABC of the George L. Gordon, Jr., Government Center, 1300 Courthouse Road, Stafford, VA 22554.
Local Transportation
Virginia Railway Express
Due to the winter storm currently passing through the area, VRE will not operate any train service Thursday, February 13 and our offices are closed.

Trash Facilities
The Regional Landfill in Stafford on Eskimo Hill Road will be closed for today, Thursday, February 13, 2014. It will reopen tomorrow, Friday, February 14, 2014, at 8:00 a.m.
