The man who was ejected from the backseat of a SUV on I-95 was not wearing his seat belt, police say.
Three men were traveling in a 1994 Isuzu Rodeo about 2:10 Thursday when the driver, 19-year-old Brett Tyler Jones, of
Stafford, lost control of the SUV and it overturned landing on the median of the highway.
Alex Underwood, 20, had been sitting in the back seat of the SUV and was ejected, said Virginia State Police Sgt. Les Tyler.
Another man, 20-year-old Cody Bailey, was also injured.
All three were taken to a hospital with serious injuries, officials said.

Stafford, Va. –– One person was ejected from a car this afternoon as it traveled on Interstate 95 in Stafford County.
The cross-over SUV vehicle with three occupants inside overturned in the northbound lanes and landed in the median of the highway at mile post 139, ejecting one person from the car, said Stafford Fire and Rescue Department spokesman Mark Doyle.
Three people have been taken to a local hospital following the crash, and afterward, crews removed the vehicle from the median.
The conditions of the victims were not released.
Two of the occupants inside the vehicle became trapped and had to be extracted.
Initial reports indicated the vehicle overturned but then landed on all four tires.
The crash happened about 2:30 p.m. Thursday, and since has backed up traffic on both the north and southbound sides of the highway.
