This just press release just in from Virginia State Police:
At 9:39 a.m., Virginia State Police were called to the Manassas Regional Airport for a crashed aircraft. Sahel Abdulrahim Bader, 35, of Fairfax, Va., was practicing take offs and landings in a 2000 Cessna Skyhawk 172S when it crash landed near the airport. Bader was not injured in the crash and there was minimal damage to the aircraft. State police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
The FAA was notified and responded to the scene. Virginia State Police, Prince William County Police and the Manassas Fire Department also responded to the scene.

The small plane was a training flight that originated from Manassas Regional Airport, according to city spokeswoman Patty Prince.

MANASSAS, Va. — A plane has crashed at Manassas Regional Airport
A single-engine Cessna 172 occupied only by its pilot crashed upon landing at 9:28 a.m. It wasn’t carrying any cargo, and it’s unclear where the flight originated.
The plane crashed on runway 1-6 right and 3-4 leff, and the runway remains closed until the airplane is moved from the runway, said Manassas spokeswoman Patty Prince.
No one was injured in the crash. Emergency crews from Manassas and Prince William County are on the scene.
