DALE CITY, Va. -- It’s now midway through summer and high school football camps will soon be underway, and collegiate players are working out now in preparation for the upcoming season.
Before the season begins, a group of athletes native to Prince William County saw the need for sports camps that engage youth, and for camps that are led by talent that once played in the area. For Rickey Lewis, Chad Dunlap and Rasheed McClaude all, the product of their creativity and collaboration was “Rising Starz,” a speed and agility football camp set to take place Saturday and Sunday, July 20 and 21 at the Hylton Boys & Girls Club in Dale City.
“It’s time for former athletes from this area to invest in the future youth of our community, and express to them the importance of how you should give back to your community, much like we are trying to do,” said Lewis.
