Stafford Celebrating Independence Day with Marin Band, Les Miserable Cast

STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. — The 4th of July will be celebrated at Pratt Park in southern Stafford County this year.

Fireworks will begin at 9:15 p.m., and the festival will include the Quantico Marine Corps Band, the University of Mary Washington’s Philharmonic, and the cast of Les Miserables at the Riverside Center. It’ll also feature music, food, and children’s games.

“Freedom took root in Virginia,” said Stafford County Board of Supervisors Chairman Susan Stimpson. “I can’t think of a more appropriate place to celebrate the Fourth of July than Stafford County and Fredericksburg,” stated Stafford Board of Supervisors Chairman Susan Stimpson in a press release.

The gates to Pratt Park on River Road will open at 4:30 p.m., and the festival will begin at 5 p.m.

Officials warn parking is limited at Pratt Park, and once the lot is full no more cars will be allowed inside. After the fireworks, River Road will be closed to regular traffic to help drivers exit Pratt Park.

Dogs are allowed to the event provided they are kept on a leash.
