State Police Helicopter Aides in Search for Missing Walmart Man

A Virginia State Police helicopter was flew over Stafford County late Wednesday night as the search for 48-year-old Floyd Tyler continues.

Employees at a Walmart on Garrisonville Road say Tyler was an employee at the big box store who worked in the parking lot collecting shopping carts that had been used by customers. Tyler was working at the time of his disappearance, employees said.

By 10 p.m., Stafford County authorities issued a second plea for the public’s help in finding Tyler. It contained no new information.

Stafford County authorities told Potomac Local News search and rescue crews are actively searching for the man who disappeared Tuesday from a Walmart in North Stafford.

His disappearance was reported by the county’s sheriff’s office today.

3 p.m. 

NORTH STAFFORD, Va. — Authorities in Stafford County are looking for a man who went missing from a Walmart store on Garrisonville Road.

Floyd Tyler, 48, was last seen at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the busy store. He was wearing white polo shirt, blue jeans with white stains, and Nike shoes with no socks.

“The male walks with a limp and displays some cognitive impairment” stated Stafford sheriff’s spokesman Bill Kennedy.

Authorities said they would not release his address to the media. Police also did not say if his disappearance was considered to be suspicious.

Anyone with information on this man’s whereabouts should call 911, stated Kennedy.
