STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. – A woman was found suffering fatal gunshot wounds on Friday.
Stafford sheriff’s deputies were called to a home at 59 Alderman Drive in a rural portion of Stafford County near the Lake Arrowhead subdivision at 2:42 p.m. Friday where they found the victim. The woman was taken to a local hospital Friday where she was pronounced dead.
The shooting is “between the husband and his estranged wife,” and was reported by the Stafford sheriff’s office this morning. The name of the victim was not released. No charges have been filed in the case.
Sheriff’s office spokesman Bill Kennedy said the investigation is ongoing.
The victim’s body was taken to a state medical examiner’s office in Richmond for examination.
