MANASSAS, Va. – Police said a woman left her two young children alone for up to two hours. The children were found walking alongside a neighborhood street.

Felony Child Neglect – On March 15th at 10:28AM, police responded to investigate a child neglect which was reported to have occurred in the 8300 block of Irongate Way in Manassas (20109). The caller located two children, a 3 year old girl and 5 year old boy, walking the area above unsupervised. The caller took the children to nearby Westgate Elementary School where police were notified. Officers located the accused, the children’s mother, walking in the same area about 45 minutes after police were notified.
The investigation revealed that the accused had left the children in a locked room of the residence while she was gone for about 2 hours. The children were not injured. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.
