Crime Watch: Another Mysterious Note Appears in Manassas

Hit & Run | Filing a False Police Report – On February 25th at 5:59PM, police responded to investigate a hit and run which was reported to have occurred in the area of Minnieville Rd and Spriggs Rd in Woodbridge (22193) on February 23rd.

The victim, a 46 year old woman of Triangle, reported to police that she was struck by a vehicle while making a left hand turn from Minnieville Rd onto Spriggs Rd. After pulling over to exchange information, the victim observed the striking vehicle flee the area.

A witness to the crash provided a description of the striking vehicle. Officers made contact with the vehicle owner, the accused, who informed police that she was struck and that the other driver fled the area. It was eventually determined that the accused had lied to officers and was subsequently arrested.

Arrested on February 25th:

Destini Shawnice SWAILS, 25, of 14221 Fallbrook Ln in Woodbridge

Charged with hit & run and filing a false police report

Court date unavailable, released on a $5,000 unsecured bond

Hit & Run & DUI

Manassas City Police officers investigated a Hit & Run Accident in the 8900 block of Princeton Park Drive at approximately 5:15AM Monday, February 25. The offender struck three parked cars and a mailbox. Juan Pablo Pena Quintanilla, 47, of 8906 Princeton Park Drive, was arrested and charged with Hit & Run (4 counts) and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol (1st Offense). He was initially held at the ADC pending an April 9 court appearance.

Residential Burglary

The Manassas City Police Department is investigating the burglary of an apartment on the 8600 block of Bruton Parish Court. A resident reported that the burglary occurred sometime between 2:00AM Saturday, February 23, and 2:45PM Sunday, February 24. The front door appeared to have been pried open when no one was home. A collection of watches, a video camera and cash were reported stolen.

Larceny from Auto

The Manassas City Police Department is investigating the larceny of items from the car of an employee at “Paisano’s Pizza,” 8683 Sudley Road. The employee reported that while his car was parked at the restaurant between 3:30PM and 4:15PM Sunday, February 24, his subwoofer speaker box and the car title were stolen. The car appeared to have been left unlocked.

Commercial Burglary – Attempted

The Manassas City Police Department is investigating the attempted burglary of a Pierce Funeral Home building at 9320 West Street. An employee reported to police that at some time between 12:00PM Monday, February 18, and 7:30AM Tuesday, February 19, someone attempted to kick in a rear door. The door was damaged, but entry was not gained.

Threatening note left at residence

The Manassas City Police Department is investigating the latest incident in a series of threatening notes left at the front doors of residences in the Weems neighborhood area. The most recent note was left on the front door of a residence on the 9200 block of Bayberry Avenue at approximately 10:00PM Saturday, February 16. This was the first reported incident since January 11. This past Saturday, the resident reported hearing the doorbell ring several times before going to the door and discovering the note stuck between the storm door and the frame. The resident did not see the person who left the note and there were no other witnesses. The note was similar to ones left on the previously reported occasions. As in the previous incidents, this residence has no connection to the person named in the note. The investigation is ongoing.
