WOODBRIDGE, Va. — A victim in a crash on Feb. 4 has succumbed to her injuries.
Prince William police said 58-year-old Earnestine R. Larry, of Woodbridge, died Feb. 9 after suffering a head injury in the crash. The victim was riding inside a 2007 Toyota Scion, and the driver of that car was not injured.
Police said the crash occurred when the driver and only occupant of a 2012 Toyota Tacoma pick-up, 38-year-old Ruth Del Carmen Zelayya Campos, of 15923 Uppsala Court in Woodbridge, ignored a red light at U.S. 1 and Rippon Boulevard and slammed into the Scion, said police. Zelaya Campos is charged with reckless driving and was arrested Monday, police said.
The 58-year-old victim in this case initially refused to be taken to a hospital, but later that evening on the day of the crash the woman was taken to Inova Fairfax Hospital for treatment, said police.
No other injuries were reported. Zelaya Campos’ court date was not released.
