Felix Faces Burglary Charges after Woman Beaten with Flashlight

STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. — Investigators said a man used a flashlight to batter a woman inside of her home, then went to another home where he was chased out by a man with a gun.

The bizarre incident took place about 1 a.m. Thursday in the Ferry Farm section of Stafford County.

A woman inside a home on Jefferson Street said she woke up after hearing a noise of what sounding like someone sifting through her things. Then she saw a man with flashlight, which he then used to shine in her eyes to blind her, and proceeded to beat her with it, said Stafford sheriff’s spokesman Bill Kennedy.

The man apparently fled the house, and the woman called 911 and was taken to a local hospital with cuts and bruises.

A short time later at another home on Jefferson Street, a man and woman woke once they heard what sounded like the bang of their kitchen freezer door. The man went to investigate, and once again, there an intruder shined a flashlight in the face of the resident, said Kennedy.

The victim then went for his shotgun and the intruder fled the scene.

Sheriff’s deputies were already on the case following the first incident, and it didn’t take long for deputies to catch their suspect. Kennedy said the suspect was found on nearby Ferry Road and arrested.

Brandon Felix, 18, of Fredericksburg, is charged with two counts of burglary, malicious wounding, drunk in public, and with underage possession of alcohol, said Kennedy. He was taken to the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
