STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. — Human remains found behind a call center for GEICO auto insurance have been sent to Richmond for examination.
Investigators were called about 3 p.m. Monday to a wooded area behind the GEICO office off U.S. 17 in Stafford County to investigate the found remains. They were located by a group of people waking in the woods who then called 911 to report what they had found. The remains were decomposed.
“It appears they had been there for a while,” said Stafford sheriff’s spokesman Bill Kennedy.
The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office was able to wrap up its investigation and Kennedy said he was not aware of any businesses in the area that were impacted by the work of the detectives.
