Manassas will welcome its newest art gallery during a ribbon-cutting event on Friday, November 4.
Founded in Manassas by Virginia native Nancy Jean Edmundson and former Manassas City Councilman Ian Lovejoy, the Lovejoy Gallery on Main is a working studio that also hosts a collection of art from around the world. The two are engaged to be married.
A boutique gallery, the Lovejoy Gallery on Main offers a curated selection of works from regional artists as well as offerings from Europe and the Caribbean.
“We’ve created a home for local artists to showcase their work – a delightful addition to the growing arts community in Old Town Manassas,” said Edmundson. “It’s a unique opportunity to bring new life to a wonderful 120-year-old building,” added Lovejoy.
The grand opening exhibit will feature about 15 artists with works ranging from Abstracts to Landscapes, Oil on Canvas to Alcohol Ink.
The Gallery’s grand opening is scheduled as part of the November 4 Manassas Fall Gallery Walk from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and will take place at 9358 Main Street, Manassas.
Lovejoy is also running for a Virginia State Senate Seat to represent Manassas, Manassas Park, and Gainesville.
