Hematology-Oncology Infusion Center opens in Falmouth

Virginia Oncology Care expanded its services by opening the Hematology-Oncology Infusion Center.

The 40,000-square feet facility is equipped with 45 infusion suites to allow privacy and a serene environment for patients and their family members.

The new center at 405 Chatham Heights Road in Falmouth is located in a former Safeway grocery store. In December 2021, the Stafford County Board of Supervisors approved $90,000 in tax incentives for the company.

Virginia Oncology Care was established in 2017 to improve cancer care standards and access to infusion therapies in Stafford, Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania, and surrounding areas.

It employs five board-certified physicians and ten advanced practice providers to serve the community’s needs.

Virginia Oncology Care strives to provide the latest techniques and equipment to minimize hair loss due to chemotherapy. They continue to offer PAXMAN, a scalp cooling device that prevents and minimizes hair loss while undergoing chemotherapy.

Virginia Oncology Care also offers laser hair growth for all patients. A certified trichologist will now be providing consultative services to promote hair growth for patients of Virginia Oncology Care.

“This is a proud day that we have looked forward to,” remarked Supervisor Thomas Coen, George Washington District. “This state-of-the-art facility represents the next level of health care for our community and region. We applaud President Manan Mehta and team with Virginia Oncology Care for their confidence and fidelity in Stafford.”
