The bodies of two Woodbridge men were recovered from the Potomac River.
The bodies of Fermin Alvarado, 45, and Matias Alvarado-Arrue, 31 were recovered by Maryland Department of Natural Resources Police on Sunday.
Officials said the two men were in a boat that overturned at the confluence of the Potomac River and Mattawoman Creek earlier in the afternoon.
A gale warning had been issued for boaters in small crafts on Sunday afternoon ahead of large storms that roared through the region Sunday night.
The bodies of the two men were sent to a medical examiner’s office in Baltimore.
The mouth of the Mattawoman Creek is located across the Potomac River from Tims Rivershore restaurant.
