STAFFORD, Va. –– Commonwealth’s Attorney candidate Eric Olsen faced a chili crowd Sunday evening.

But the hot bowls of chili at the candidate’s fundraiser had the crowd of nearly 150 fired up to support Olsen’s campaign.

The candidate has the endorsement of current Commonwealth Attorney Daniel Chichester who has held the position in Stafford for 40 years as well as Sheriff Charlie Jett.

“The Stafford Commonwealth Attorney’s office is the envy of the state based on what Daniel Chichester built,” said Olsen. “I want to keep up that tradition of strong law enforcement and strong prosecution to keep Stafford safe.

The crowd that gathered at the American Legion dined on chili served in uniquely designed bowls handcrafted by ceramic artist Dan Finnegan. He and other area businesses also donated an array of items that were auctioned off during the fundraiser.

Olsen thanked his supporters and reminded the crowd of pending election deadlines.

“Aug. 1 is the deadline to register to vote in the Aug. 23 primary,” said Olsen. “And if you are not going to be in the area on Aug. 23 you can get an absentee ballot now.”

On July 26, Olsen will host “Pizza with the Prosecutor.” Residents are invited to Sam’s Pizza and Subs on Rt. 1 across from the courthouse between 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. to hear Olsen’s plans to keep Stafford safe.

Olsen’s has created a website to showcase his platform, endorsements, and upcoming events.
