“Please note that while some shops/restaurants may be open… a lot of shops and restaurants are posting that they are closed today due to weather,” City of Manassas stated.
“If you’re a snow owl, please look/call ahead to make sure your downtown destination is open.”
“Stay safe out there,” the city added,
encouraging residents to check directly with businesses before heading downtown.
City officials said weather conditions are affecting staffing and operations, with some businesses able to open if employees live within walking distance. Others have chosen to close for the day due to road and safety concerns.
