A Stafford man was arrested after an incident involving a firearm. On December 15, 2025, deputies responded to a home on Cliff Circle following a report of a break-in. A child returning from school discovered the door unlocked and encountered a man inside with a gun.
The suspect, identified as a 28-year-old male, pointed the firearm at the child and instructed them to enter the home. The child fled to a nearby family member’s house, prompting a swift response from law enforcement.
Deputies established a perimeter around the residence and confirmed the suspect’s presence inside. After a brief standoff, the suspect was apprehended without further incident. He was found in possession of a firearm at the time of his arrest.
The suspect faces multiple charges, including breaking and entering with the intent to commit a felony, brandishing a firearm, abduction by force, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He is currently held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.

FRAUD
7-11, 324 White Oak Road, 12/16 12:11 a.m. Deputy M. A. Holub responded to a fraud complaint at the business. The business reported that an unknown person passed multiple counterfeit bills.NARCOTICS VIOLATION
Wawa, 830 Warrenton Road, 12/16 1:39 a.m. Sergeant S. C. Jett conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for not having a valid Virginia inspection sticker displayed. Deputy R. A. Kehoe responded to assist with the investigation. A K-9 narcotics scan was conducted on the vehicle which yielded a positive alert. During a search of the vehicle a smoking device and suspected controlled substances were located. The driver was identified as Tammy Hinson, 42, of Stafford. Hinson was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance. Hinson was held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail on a secured bond.LARCENY
Richards Ferry Road, 12/16 4:00 p.m. Deputy T. W. Jenkins responded to a larceny complaint. The victim reported that an unknown person stole some items from a package that was delivered to their residence.PUBLIC INTOXICATION
Salisbury Drive / Greenspring Drive, 12/16 4:17 p.m. Deputy J. J. Holetzky responded to an unknown situation. It was reported that a subject was lying on the sidewalk in this area and it was unknown if the subject was breathing or alive. Deputy Holetzky located the subject who was lying in a grassy area. The subject had an odor of alcoholic beverage coming from his person. While assisting the individual, Deputy Holetzky observed the individual to be unsteady on his feet. The subject was identified as John Vanparys, 62, of Woodbridge. Vanparys was charged with public intoxication and held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober.
Stafford VA. On 12/15/2025, at approximately 3:57 p.m., deputies responded to a residence on Cliff Circle for a reported breaking and entering. It was described that a male subject broke in and was located inside of the residence with a gun.Deputy H. R. Perkins arrived on scene and began the investigation. Deputy Perkins learned that a juvenile arrived home from school to find that the door to their home was unlocked. When the juvenile opened the door there was a male inside of the home with a gun. The male turned around and pointed a gun at the juvenile telling the juvenile that they could come inside. The juvenile fled to a nearby family member’s house.
A perimeter was formed around the home and deputies were able to confirm the male was still inside of the home. After a brief barricade, the suspect was taken into custody without incident. The suspect was in possession of a firearm at the time of his arrest.
The suspect was identified as Damian Wright, 28, of Stafford. Wright was charged with breaking and entering with the intent to commit a felony, brandishing a firearm, abduction by force, intimidation, or deception and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Wright was held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail under no bond.
