
A Stafford man was charged with driving under the influence of marijuana after a suspicious vehicle call at Autumn Ridge Park. Deputies detected a strong odor of marijuana from the vehicle and the driver, Kelvin Hamilton, II, 23, admitted to using the substance. Field sobriety tests led to his arrest, and he was given an unsecured bond.
In another incident, a man from Temple Hills, Maryland, was arrested for petty larceny and public intoxication after leaving a store with unpaid merchandise. The suspect, 65, was identified by the business and found to be under the influence of alcohol.
Additionally, a fraud complaint was filed after an unauthorized money transfer from a victim’s bank account, and a larceny report was made for a stolen wallet, which led to fraudulent purchases.

FRAUD
Matthew Lane, 12/2 2:56 p.m. Deputy C. M Keens handled a fraud compliant. The victim reported that there was an unauthorized money transfer from their banking account.LARCENY
Bealton Court, 12/2 7:29 a.m. Deputy C. M. Keens handled a larceny report. The victim reported that their wallet had been stolen. The victim also reported that there had been multiple fraudulent purchases on their banking accounts.Giant, 317 Worth Avenue 12/2 7:07 p.m. Deputy C. A. Osborne responded to the business for a reported larceny. The business advised that a subject left the store with a shopping cart containing unpaid merchandise. A suspect description was provided. Deputy Osborne located the subject at a nearby business. The subject had a strong odor of alcoholic beverages emanating from his person. The subject also had glassy, bloodshot eyes. The subject was taken into custody and positively identified by the business as the same subject who committed the larceny. The subject was identified as Gerald Cunningham, 65, of Temple Hills, Maryland. Cunningham was charged with petty larceny and public intoxication. Cunningham was held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober.
DUI
Autumn Ridge Park, 900 Eustace Road, 12/2 12:05 a.m. Deputy A. G. Hart responded to this location to assist First Sergeant M. L. Jacobeen with a suspicious vehicle call. Upon making contact with the vehicle, which was running, there was an overwhelming odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. Contact was made with the driver who had an odor of marijuana coming from his person. The driver admitted to using marijuana and there was evidence of marijuana use within the vehicle. After performing field sobriety tests, the driver was taken into custody. The driver was identified as Kelvin Hamilton, II, 23, of Stafford. Hamilton was charged with driving under the influence of marijuana and given an unsecured bond.This report does not encompass all of the reported crimes that may have occurred in the county, but only those noted for media interest.
