Nominations Open for Prince William Business Celebration and Awards

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. — Residents and business leaders are being asked to help shine a spotlight on those making a difference in the community.

The 2025 Make Your Mark Business Awards are now open for nominations under the playful theme, “Nominate a Frightfully Good Business Owner.” Nominations close on October 10, with winners to be recognized during a live ceremony on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at the National Museum of the Marine Corps.

The awards are hosted by the Prince William County Department of Economic Development & Tourism as part of its broader Make Your Mark campaign, which aims to celebrate businesses that fuel the county’s economy, create jobs, and build lasting community connections.

“This is about honoring the businesses, organizations, and individuals who go above and beyond to grow our local economy and make Prince William County a better place to live and work,” county officials said in a statement.

Four Award Categories

Nominees may be submitted in one of four categories:

  • Make Your Mark Business Ambassador Award — Recognizes an individual, business, or nonprofit that advances small business support, entrepreneurship, or workforce development.
  • Economic Legacy Award — Honors a business with more than 20 years of sustained impact in Prince William County.
  • Fastest Growing Company Award — Highlights measurable growth in revenue, hiring, or market reach over the past several years.
  • Destination Experience Award — Celebrates an event, attraction, or organization that strengthens Prince William’s tourism identity and visitor experience.

How to Nominate

Nominations must be submitted online by October 10 at 11:59 p.m. Finalists will be notified by November 3. In order to be eligible, nominees must also be registered to attend the Make Your Mark Business Celebration and Awards Ceremony.

The evening celebration at the National Museum of the Marine Corps will bring together business owners, community leaders, and county officials to recognize the contributions of Prince William’s business community.

Officials encourage residents, customers, and colleagues to consider nominating someone who is making an impact.

“Every business has a story, and these awards give us the opportunity to tell those stories and celebrate the people behind them,” the department said.

How to Participate

  • Submit nominations at the official Make Your Mark Awards website before October 10.
  • Register to attend the celebration on November 13.
