We’ll be featuring local businesses in our holiday gift-giving series. We’ve asked local businesses to tell us about their holidays, and to suggest gift ideas for a wide range of people.
Stafford’s Olde Virginia Gourmet recently celebrated its 20th anniversary. Open since 2004, owners Sean and Annabelle Tarallo run a gourmet and gift shop that focuses on Virginia products, including wines, beers, and other gourmet specialties.
The store began with Annabelle’s gift baskets, a fitting idea for the holiday season. Baskets can be customized for the customer and then shipped or picked up at the store. The store’s items are primarily supplied by small businesses and artisans in Virginia. Sean said this detail means “many of our products will be unique to small shops like ours. We support many small business producers in our area.”
The Tarallos, married for 35 years, said one of their favorite parts of the holiday season is seeing familiar customers pop in. They enjoy the sense of community created with customers who have been shopping there for many years.
The store will host a Shop and Sip from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, December 13 with Commonwealth Brewing.
