There’s now an empty city block where a downtown motel once sat.
According to photos posted by Manassas City Councilwoman Sonia Vasquez Luna, the Old Towne Inn is no more.
Demolition crews began tearing down the 50-year-old structure in late October. The motel also housed City Tavern until 2014, when the restaurant relocated to its current site at Center Street and Stonewall Road.
The city purchased the old roadside motel in the heart of downtown for $5.5 million in February 2023.
The city, which owns the property at the corner of Center and Main streets, on which the hotel once sat, has yet to announce what will replace the old motel.
