Wawa store opens on Route 610 in North Stafford: 1 of 2 new stores to open in the county

Wawa opened its newest store in North Stafford on Friday, December 9, 2022.

The store is located at 1172 Garrisonville Road. To mark the occasion, Wawa hosted a grand opening celebration and outdoor ribbon cutting beginning at 9 a.m.

Before the celebration, the new store opened at 8 a.m., when Wawa began distributing limited-edition Wawa “Goose Vibes Only” t-shirts for the first 100 customers. Wawa will also provide free coffee to toast the community as part of the grand-opening celebration through December 18, 2022.

Katelyn Mozingo will serve as general manager of the new Wawa store, leading a team of approximately 50 employees, all of which are new positions brought to the area through the development of the store.

Associates in these full- and part-time positions will not only receive an hourly starting rate of $15 and health benefits but, once eligible, will participate in Wawa’s employee stock ownership plan. Wawa Associates own 40% of Wawa through the ESOP.

The store is fully equipped with a built-to-order fresh food kitchen featuring its hoagies (80 million hoagies sold annually) and newest food innovations such as a customizable hamburger, Wawa coffee (195 million cups sold annually); the Sizzliä, a hot breakfast sandwich; a new line of specialty beverages (hot, cold, iced and frozen); a bakery; and a line of dairy products, juices, and teas, plus packaged goods, and fuel.

The new gas station is one of two new Wawa locations. A second, just north of Route 610 at Route 1 and Port Aquia Drive, will open soon.
