A new trampoline park in Woodbridge makes parents and their children want to jump for joy.
Sky Zone Woodbridge offers a wide variety of activities, from a wall-to-wall trampoline for freestyle jumping, an area with nothing but foam blocks to leap into, and the SkySlam trampoline court — a full basketball court, all under one roof.
I took my two-and-a-half-year-0ld daughter for her first time at a trampoline park, and she loved the video jump. Located in a secluded corner of the park, she could jump while watching herself on a video screen, surrounded by fun characters and backgrounds. It was like watching her exercise as a character in a video game.
She loved the foam blocks and lept right into the park’s Foam Zone, full of soft blocks that cushioned her fall but were also fun to pick and toss around.
She was off to the obstacle course, which included monkey bars, swings, and jousting sticks. At two, sometimes she’s a little more adventurous than I’d like, but it was amazing to see her feel so comfortable in the park and willing to walk up to the other children and make friends.
Midway through our tour, she claimed the wall in an area of the park with trampolines up the wall, allowing you to jump off the wall and back onto a trampoline.
The last thing my little one ran to was the SkySlam basketball court, where she picked up a full-size basketball and aimed for the hoops. When she gets a little taller, I know she’ll get nothing but net, especially with the fun and bouncy floor on which the court sits that brings up the best jumpers.
The bouncing basketball court is not only a favorite of park fans, but ESPN recently featured the court on its social media channels.
The park also features a snack bar and a second-floor party room overlooking the park to host birthday parties and special events.
SkyZone Woodbridge opened in March 2020 and is now celebrating a grand opening with new management. General Manager Amanda Robinson has worked for months to not only hire new staff to serve guests and their families and maintain the park’s cleanliness standards, and preserve the original wall original art that gives SkyZone Woodbridge its unique look and feel.
Insider tip: Try the tall slide into the Foam Zone for a thrill.
Park tickets range from $20 to $30 and are good for 90 minutes of fun. Monthly memberships start at $24, and observers can come to watch for free. Jumpers must sign a waiver to participate and must wear unique socks sold at the park entrance.
SkyZone Woodbridge is at 14555 Potomac Mills Road, near Texas Roadhouse restaurant in Woodbridge. The park is open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and Friday and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
