Leaders hope to boost ridership on area commuter buses by keeping fares low.
The Prince William County Government and OmniRide want to enact an I-66 Commuter Bus Fare Buy Down Transit Incentive Program. The county hopes to win $800,000 in funding for the fare reductions from the Northern Virginia Transit Commission, which provides funding for selected mobility projects in the region.
