GAINESVILLE — RockWood Sports Bar is now open in Gateway Promenade in Gainesville.
The latest creation of D.C. restaurateur Mike Cordero, this restaurant opened in the space previously occupied by Ruby Tuesday.
According to the restaurant’s website, they serve American comfort food with a trendy twist. Staples like Rock the Stack, a gourmet burger with a half-pound beef patty with applewood bacon, American cheese, online rings, lettuce, tomatoes and a special mayo sauce.
You can also find southern favorites like BBQ ribs and southern fried chicken. For diners looking for a little spice, they have dishes like Chef Mike’s Jamaican Jerk Chicken. Dessert lovers will want to check out their gourmet milkshakes, including their signature Red Velvet shake. Their website promises a “casual yet refined experience.”
The Rockwood bar boasts 30 HD TVs to view sporting events, 12 beers on tap, signature cocktails and a full wine list. They also have patio dining with LED TVs, firepits and backyard games. They can accommodate virtually any size party and are open to private events.
They currently host Team Trivia Tuesdays at 7 pm, as posted on their Facebook page.
They are open daily from 11:30 a.m. to 2 a.m. on weekdays and 10:30 a.m. to 2 a.m. on weekends.
Rockwood offers catering options from box lunches and buffets to plated meals for private and business clients.
Cordero also co-owns and operates Washington, D.C. area restaurants G.O.A.T, Don Tito, Don Taco, Primetime, Barley Mac, Bronx Pizza, and A-Town.
