Woodbridge man sentenced to 180 months for drug trafficking

Bryan Samuel, a 38-year old Woodbridge man, was sentenced to 180 months in prison for conspiring to distribute more than 100 grams of heroin and possession of a firearm, according to a release from the United States Department of Justice.

Samuel pled guilty in county on February 19, before his trial began.

It was stated in court documents that Samuel and four other individuals were involved in obtaining large amounts of heroin from the surrounding Washington D.C. area. The group would then repackage the heroin and resell the goods to individuals in Prince William County.

In addition to heroin distribution, Samuel would carry a firearm, and used the weapon when he robbed another drug distributor. In addition to having the weapon in his home, he would carry the narcotics and firearm out into the community, where he would distribute the drugs.

According to a release, Samuel even attempted to continue to run his narcotics business while behind bars, when arrested on local charges.

Due to a prior felony conviction, the minimum sentence that Samuel could be granted was 10 years, as stated in a release.
