A house explosion on Hopkins Branch Way in Stafford County was reported last night by the Stafford County Fire and Rescue Department.
Units responded to the call of the explosion, and there are indications that a gas leak may have been the cause. No injuries were reported.

On Saturday February 1, 2014 at 9:04 p.m. Stafford County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to a reported explosion in the Stafford Lakes Subdivision. Upon arrival units discovered a two story single family dwelling on Hopkins Branch Way with extensive damage. The earlier indications point to a gas leak that found an ignition source causing the explosion. Due to the condition of the dwelling search and rescue dogs are being used to complete a search the structure.
There were no reported injuries. The Fire Marshal Office is conducting an investigation to confirm the cause.
