STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. — A teenager was stabbed early Saturday morning in Stafford County.
Sheriff’s deputies were called to the area of Theodore Street and Lyons Boulevard in the England Run subdivision at 12:19 p.m. for a report of a large fight that involved 16 people. Deputies surrounded the area and found teenagers fleeing the scene, and then stopped them to learn more about the fight, said Stafford sheriff’s spokesman Bill Kennedy.
Through their investigation, deputies and detectives learned the fight started at a party at a nearby home where a 19-year-old was stabbed. An acquaintance of the victim took him to Stafford Hospital Center with non life-threatening wounds to his back and abdomen area, said Kennedy.
Detectives developed the identify of a juvenile suspect in the case and put a look out for the vehicle the suspect had thought to have fled the scene in, said Kennedy. About 30 minutes later, the 17-year-old suspect who lives in Stafford County was found at a fast food restaurant on U.S. 17 in south Stafford.
The teenager is charged with aggravated malicious wounding and was held at a juvenile detention center.
