iPads Taken from Walmart

STAFFORD, Va. — The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s assistance in helping to identify the individuals responsible for the shoplifting of over $7,000.00 worth of electronics from the Walmart store at 217 Garrisonville Road on Friday, March 23.

On Friday, March 23, Sgt. Rebecca Losiewski responded to the Wal-Mart on Garrisonville Road for the report of a shoplifting incident. Loss prevention personnel of Wal-Mart told Sgt. Losiewski that in the early morning hours of March 23 a male suspect was spotted in the electronic section briefly but was seen entering and exiting the store numerous times. He was also seen waiting in or around the suspect vehicle. The second male suspect was seen entering the store and going to the electronic section.

Once there, the second suspect was seen breaking the lock on the Apple case and running away to a nearby aisle. Moments later he returns with a suitcase, places several iPads in the suitcase runs off. Once again the suspect returns to the same location and puts numerous iPods in the suitcase.

This type of activity goes on until the Apple case is emptied.

Ultimately the second suspect went to the Lawn and Garden section of the store and dropped the suitcase over a chain linked fence that separates the Lawn and Garden section from the parking lot. At this point, the first suspect was seen picking up the suitcase while the second suspect climbed the fence and left the scene.

The first suspect is described as a light skinned black or Hispanic male, age 22-28, 5 feet 6 to 5feet 10 inches tall, wearing a black t-shirt, grey Hollister sweatpants and black shoes and having a tattoo on the inside of his right forearm.

The second suspect is described as a black male, age 22 -28, 5 feet 6 inches to 5feet 9 inches tall, wearing a grey Hollister t-shirt, black sweat pants and black and white tennis shoes.

The first suspect was seen in the store asking about electronics on Thursday, March 22,. The vehicle that the suspects were driving is described as a possible Chrysler 300, painted in a distinctive two tone with a white or light color on the roof and a maroon or red color on the bottom half of the vehicle. The car is also outfitted with custom rims, known as “22’s”.

This is an ongoing investigation. A similar type of incident occurred at a Walmart in Fredericksburg at approximately the same time. These incidents are being investigated to see if they are related.

The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office is asking that if anyone has any information about this crime or the suspects involved to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 540-658-4400.
