IKEA Has Gift Cards for First 100 Customers Saturday

Woodbridge, Va. — IKEA on Saturday is celebrating 25 years in business in Woodbridge by offering free gift cards to the first 100 adult customers.

Store employees will hand out the gift cards, valued between $5 and $250 to the first 100 customers in line. They’ll also be things for children to do, like free face painting and a children eat free at the store’s restaurant between noon and 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Radio Disney is scheduled to appear at the store for music and giveaways on Sunday, said IKEA spokeswoman Wendy Rogers.

IKEA first opened its doors inside Potomac Mills mall after it opened in 1985 and used to sit where AMC Theaters is located. In 2002, the store opened at its current location outside the mall off of Telegraph Road.

The IKEA store in Woodbridge is the company’s only retail location in Virginia. It’s one of nearly 300 IKEA stores worldwide.
