Update:
The National Weather Service confirms a tornado touched down near Quantico about 5:30 p.m. Thursday. One house in the Boswell’s Corner area of North Stafford sustained roof damage, and several others sustained minor damage, according to fire officials.
No storm-related injuries were reported.
North Stafford, Va. — A tornado warning for the Potomac Communities just structural damage in North Stafford.
Rescue crews were called to Blossom Lane just off U.S. 1 in Boswells Corner just after 5:30 p.m. after a strong thunderstorm moved through the area packing high winds and heavy rain. They are on the scene and have reported minor damage to a home there.
The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for North Stafford, as well as eastern Prince William and portions of Fairfax County in light of the storm.
