A holiday tradition cherished by thousands of Northern Virginia families, the Virginia Railway Express (VRE) Santa Trains will return on Saturday, December 10, after a two-year hiatus.

A total of 13 trains will depart from five VRE stations: Spotsylvania, Fredericksburg, Woodbridge, Manassas, and Burke Centre. The 75-minute excursions begin as early as 8:30 a.m. and as late as 3:30 p.m. Santa, Mrs. Claus, and their elves will be onboard listening to children’s Christmas wishes and handing out goodie bags.

The Stafford County Department of Capital Projects will host a location and design public hearing about the Staffordboro Boulevard Sidewalk Project. The meeting will take place on Monday, December 5, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Anne E. Moncure Elementary School, 120 Juggins Road; Stafford, VA 22556.

Citizens are invited to see the proposed improvements for the section of Staffordboro Boulevard that extends from Juggins Road Connector to Pike Place (SR-2278) in Stafford County. Now, the entire 22.5-mile 66 Express Lanes corridor from Route 29 in Gainesville to I-495 will be open with tolling and HOV-2+ rules in effect.

This week, OmniRide buses from Prince William and Stafford counties and Manassas will serve the Pentagon only.

Once there, riders may transfer to Metro to continue to their destinations. The change is temporary, lasts only through Wednesday, and comes during Thanksgiving week.
