The City of Manassas Republican Committee has a new leader following an uncontested election. Pat Geary was elected chairman on March 11, 2026, succeeding outgoing Chairman George Ellis. Geary will serve a two-year term.

Geary, a retired senior federal official, has resided in Manassas for the past seven years with his wife, daughter, and son. He brings extensive leadership experience, having held positions at the local, state, and national levels across multiple states over the last 45 years. A published author, trainer, and parliamentarian, Geary has traveled widely across all 50 states and four continents, focusing on policy development, process improvement, and career advancement for others.

MANASSAS, Va. – The Manassas City Republican Committee headquarters was vandalized on July 4, 2025, in an incident now under investigation by police.

Zachary Murphy, a committee member, discovered the damage shortly before 9:45 a.m., Saturday, July 5, while walking to the city’s farmers market. He had spent the morning decorating the headquarters at 9016 Center Street for Independence Day, hanging an American flag, and putting up patriotic bunting.

MANASSAS, Va. – The Manassas City Republican Committee is calling on residents to fill the room at the next Prince William-Manassas Regional Jail Board meeting, pushing for the jail to renew its 287(g) immigration enforcement partnership with federal authorities.

The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at 6 p.m. in the conference room of the Adult Detention Center, 9320 Lee Avenue in Manassas.

The mayoral campaign in Manassas has begun, and Democrats have launched their first attack, focusing on the shirt color of the Republican candidate, Xiao Yin “Tang” Byrom.

Byrom knocked on doors and talked with voters on Sunday, August 4, 2024. She posted a photo of herself wearing her campaign colors, pink and green, on Facebook.
