Construction crews are about to remove a sharp curve in Old Bridge Road, a vital link to Interstate 95.

The curve is at Occoquan Road, and it’s one of the sharpest turns on any six-lane street in the region. The $11.5 million project will realign the highway south of Occoquan Road. Transportation officials hope the improvements work to ease traffic congestion that forms in the street’s elbow, which backs up to Route 123 at Interstate 95.

Prince William County wants to continue leasing land for a dog park in Lake Ridge.

The Board of County Supervisors has authorized its parks department to renew a lease for K9 Gunner Memorial Park, at 13000 Minnieville Road. Opened in 2012, the lease on the Lake Ridge Parks and Recreation Authority property expired on December 1.

Some Prince William County residents are part of the millions of people that need food to get through this holiday season.

On Saturday, November 21, Lake Ridge Rotary did its annual “Done-In-A-Day” food drive outside of a Safeway grocery store at Tackett’s Mill in Lake ridge, ACTS, and Lake Ridge Fellowship House be part of the solution.

October has arrived, and with it, at six-feet-apart, the Friends of the Occoquan conducted their fall cleanup.

A total of 132 masked volunteers arrived on October 10 at Occoquan and the Lake Ridge Park and Marina in Lake Ridge.

On Saturday and Sunday, October 24, 25, respectively, between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. First Home Alliance will hold a financial emergency clinic to help those struggling to say in their homes due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The event will be held at Ebenezer Baptist Church, located at 13020 Telegraph Road in Woodbridge. Participants will be able to drive up in their cars and then speak to someone on-site for the intake process, to maintain social distancing,
