Prince William County Animal Service Center: “Meet Roxie (ID 37698/784) A 6-year-old female Pitbull mix. The owner surrendered to the shelter when they were no longer able to care for me. New situations and people can be terrifying to me, so I may take some time before she’s comfortable meeting you.”
“Meet Lola (ID 36888/25) A 5-year-old lady is a social butterfly who loves to meet new people. For her, a perfect day would include running around, playing in the yard, and then taking a nice cozy nap beside you. Her previous owner said that she is not a great fit for families with small children due to her energy level. Lola also has chronic kidney disease and is on a veterinary prescription diet to help support her kidney health.”
Voters will head to the polls today to nominate the candidates they want to seek to advance to the General Elections in November 2023.

“Officers arrived on scene and located the vehicle in the nearby commuter lot where the driver, identified as the accused, was detained without incident. The investigation revealed the accused was intoxicated and operating the vehicle in a reckless manner as he fired several rounds of a shotgun from the vehicle.”
“Empty shell casings were located in the vehicle. No injuries or immediate indications of property damage were reported. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Alimul KHUDI, was arrested.”
Prince William County Circuit Court Clerk press release: “Two of Prince William County’s earliest records were returned to the Clerk of the Circuit Court, Jacqueline Smith, after nearly 300 years.”
“Both documents were taken from the courthouse during the Civil War and returned to Virginia during the mid-20th century.”
Prince William police: “Attempted Malicious Wounding – On June 15 at 5:37 PM, officers responded to the Promenade at Virginia Gateway Center located at 13941 Promenade Commons St. in Gainesville (20155) to investigate a fight with weapons. The investigation revealed while in the above area, the victim, a 13-year-old male juvenile and an acquaintance, identified as the accused, engaged brief verbal altercation before both parties separated.”
“A short time later, while the victim was outside of a local business, the accused approached him while brandishing a knife. The victim fled on foot and the accused followed the victim around the shopping center with the knife until police arrived and detained the accused without incident. No injuries were reported.”

Prince William County Public Schools: “Rockledge Elementary School [2300 Mariner Lane, Lake Ridge] celebrated its 50th anniversary recently with a family and community event that included inflatables and carnival-type games, hidden coins to find, rock decorating, face painting, cake walk, food trucks, and more.”
“There were displays set up in the cafeteria of current and former school programs, clubs, all the school’s yearbooks, pictures, school floor plans from beginning to current, and aerial pictures of the school over the years. There was also a giant rock donated by the local Vulcan quarry, which was painted gold and signed by all who attended.”
Virginia Department of Transportation: “Lomond Drive between Lomond South Drive and Manassas Drive (Route 213) will be closed to through traffic from 8 p.m. Friday, June 16, through Friday, June 30 to replace a pipe culvert, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.”
“Those needing to reach properties along Lomond Drive will have access; however, traffic will not be able to go beyond the point of pipe culvert replacement (between 9404 and 9407 Lomond Drive) in either direction.”
