(THE CENTER SQUARE) – Candidates for Virginia’s 7th District will debate October 21, a matchup of Democratic Rep. Abigail Spanberger and Republican challenger Yesli Vega.
On Monday, September 27, at 7:30 p.m., officers responded to the Stone Pointe Apartments located in the 14900 block of Potomac Heights Place in Woodbridge to investigate a shooting.
Officers found a 29-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound and provided first aid until rescue personnel arrived. They flew the man to an area hospital, where they determined his injuries were non-life threatening.
The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office is working to solve a case of breaking and entering.
On Saturday, September 24, at 5:18 p.m., deputies responded to a home on Hartwood Road. The resident, who was not home at the time the crime occurred, called 911 after cameras at their house showed multiple people breaking into the residence.
Questions flew Monday about why costs to renovate Manassas City Hall rose so quickly and why the city emptied the building before knowing how much renovations would cost.
It will cost $12.2 million to gut and overhaul the city’s municipal office at 9027 Center Street, installing new systems from top to bottom — electrical wiring, HVAC, elevators, and new windows, to name a few. The City Council will hold a work session at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, September 29, to determine how to pay for the cost increase.
(INSIDENOVA) — Over 100 Stratford University students packed the school’s Alexandria campus Monday afternoon, looking for answers about their future after the for-profit college announced Friday that it would be closing all three of its local campuses by the end of the week.
Updated Noon — Photos taken by a pilot of a helicopter used by Washington D.C.’s WRC-TV show hundreds walked out of schools today in Prince William County.
The photos show students at Colgan and Hylton high schools near Woodbridge participating in a walkout scheduled for 9 a.m. Tuesday, September 27. The students were there to protest new guidelines from the Virginia Department of Education, which Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R) says all public schools should follow, that shift control of transgender issues back to parents.
