“We sincerely thank all our wonderful players, amazing parents, and fantastic volunteers for their participation and support in 2025,” The Miracle League of Prince William County stated. “In 2026, we will be celebrating five years of the Miracle League program and are excited about what the future of the program holds.”

Board members are currently collecting donations and developing sponsorships for the league, with more updates expected after the start of 2026. The organization also announced it will again partner with the Washington Nationals Baseball Club’s Team Up Program. Opening Day for the 2026 Spring Miracle League season is Saturday, April 11, with two games each Saturday—8:45 to 9:45 a.m. and 10 to 11 a.m.—through May 16. Player registration begins in December.

The Decluttering Workshop will take place Saturday, November 15, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Dorothy Hart Community Center. Open to ages 14 and up, registration costs $15 for residents and $20 for non-residents.

Gainesville mob assault suspect charged

A suspect was arrested for malicious wounding related to an assault at MVP Bar & Grill in Gainesville. The altercation, which occurred in July, involved multiple patrons and resulted in non-life-threatening injuries.

Additionally, a death investigation is underway in Triangle after a house fire led to the discovery of a deceased man. No foul play is suspected, and the fire’s cause is being investigated.

Intoxicated man charged with assaulting deputies in Stafford

An incident occurred on Edwards Drive when deputies responded to a disturbance involving an intoxicated individual. The suspect, a 21-year-old male from Mineral, was found walking along Deacon Road. He provided false identification and resisted arrest, eventually assaulting several deputies at the Rappahannock Regional Jail, police said. He faces multiple charges, including assault and battery on law enforcement.

In other incidents, a larceny was reported at Independence Drive where a vehicle was broken into, and a firearm was among the stolen items. Additionally, two separate DUI arrests were made. A 34-year-old male from Woodbridge was stopped for speeding and found to be under the influence, while a 51-year-old female from Stafford was found in a disabled vehicle with signs of intoxication.

495 Express Lanes Northern Extension to Open in Late November

“We are pleased to be getting close to opening the new 495 Express Lanes extension,” VDOT Megaprojects Director Michelle Shropshire stated. “This latest addition to Northern Virginia’s existing 94-mile network of connected express lanes will provide new choices for faster and more reliable travel, in an area of the Beltway that consistently faces lengthy backups and travel delays.”

“The latest extension of the 495 Express Lanes again proves the power of partnership,” said Beau Memory, President, Transurban North America. “Investing in our community means more than just steel and concrete infrastructure—it is about creating lasting value through community benefits like multimodal travel choices and local organization investment.”

The project’s developer later told county leaders that no current theater contract exists, reviving questions about the long-promised project.

Fire Kills One in Triangle House Blaze, Firefighter Injured

One person is dead and a firefighter injured after a house fire on Triangle Street Sunday evening.

Firefighters arrived around 7:14 p.m. to find flames coming from the side and rear of a single-family home in the 18000 block. While battling the blaze, crews discovered a deceased individual outside the home. The person’s identity and cause of death will be determined by the state medical examiner.
