PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. — Prince William County earned a 2025 Government Experience Project Award in the County Government Category from the Center for Digital Government (CDG) for its Demographics Hub – an interactive, web platform that makes county demographic information easily accessible to residents, businesses and policymakers.
Launched in 2024, the hub provides on-demand access to up-to-date population, housing and economic data, significantly enhancing transparency and informed decision-making. Instead of digging through static tables or reports, users can now:

Last week, Atlantic Funding Limited LLC sued Jefferson as a private citizen, alleging she spread misinformation during two town hall meetings about the company’s plan to build five data centers on 61 acres behind the Four Seasons retirement community in Dumfries. The lawsuit claims Jefferson acted in a “malicious and deliberate” attempt to stir opposition to the project.
Jefferson, who campaigned against locating data centers near homes and schools, declined to address the specifics of the lawsuit. In a statement, she emphasized her process in evaluating land-use applications.

A serious incident occurred on Tyson Drive, where a man struck a woman with his vehicle. Responding officers found the suspect at a nearby 7-Eleven, according to the sheriff’s office.
He was charged with assault and battery, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and driving a child without proper restraints. He is currently held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a secured bond.
A missing 34-year-old man’s body was discovered in Powells Creek near Dyers Mill Ct in Woodbridge.
Officers responded to the area on September 27 after information from an investigation led them to the location. The man had been reported missing and endangered on September 25. Preliminary findings show no signs of foul play, and the body was sent for an autopsy to determine the cause of death. Authorities assure there is no threat to the community.
