Obituaries

Moses Leroy Nafzinger, 90, passed away on April 27, 2020, at Thornapple Manor in Hastings, Michigan. He was born on November 6, 1929, on the family farm in Long Green, Maryland to Lois Krabill Nafzinger and Lewis M. Nafzinger.

He graduated from Towson High School, in Towson, Maryland, Juniata College, in Huntingdon Pennsylvania, and received his medical degree from the University of Maryland in Baltimore.

A recent round of heavy rain on Thursday could lead to flooding on area rivers. And that has state officials concerns for the safety of boaters, as rushing rivers could lead to fatal boating accidents.

In Richmond, The Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries (DGIF) says recreational boaters should use extreme caution this upcoming weekend as the National Weather Service has issued Flood Warnings in several locations throughout Virginia and water temperatures remain dangerously cold.

Prince William

Five high school sophomores has started a 3-D printing business to help fight the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

The students, from Charles J. Colgan Sr. High School near Woodbridge, kicked their small 3D-printing business into high-gear, and a Woodbridge Senior High School teacher is working in his home basement to help in the fight against the spread of the coronavirus virus. The sophomore students are making 3D-printed masks for local first responders.


Traffic

A Fredericksburg area man was killed in a crash with a  tractor-trailer on Interstate 95.

Virginia State Police Trooper K. Zalasar is investigating a two-vehicle crash in Spotsylvania County. The crash occurred Thursday (April 30, 2020) at 9 a.m. on Interstate 95 at the 117 mile-marker, near Thornburg.
