FEMA is proposing updates to the Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) for specific areas in Stafford County.
These updates are based on feedback provided by the community during the first appeal period in September 2020 for Stafford County’s flood maps.
According to the Virginia Department of Transportation, here are the upcoming traffic hotspots for the week.

At about 5:15 p.m., rescue swimmers went to help two people stranded in the Rappahannock River.
Rescue crews reported a female clinging to a rock and a male on atop rock near Riverside Drive in Fredericksburg. At this point, we don’t know the conditions of the victims.

That’s the question that The Stafford County Sheriff’s Department is asking prospective applicants for their 8th annual Junior Deputies Academy.
According to the sheriff’s department website, the department will begin accepting online applications starting on March 20 for their annual July summer camp. The event is being held for Stafford County students going into 4th through 7th grade for the upcoming 2022-23 school year.
